Home Maintenance Program

St. Andrew Church is proud to be a supporter of this private, not-for-profit corporation whose purpose is to help homeowners who cannot afford private contractors and who fall outside of the eligibility rules for other social service organizations.  Eligibility is based on inability to maintain homes by their own efforts due to age or infirmity.  It is funded by donations and operated by volunteers.  This organization's aim is to help others maintain a safe life in their own homes and to encourage them in routine maintenance procedures, thus promoting good family living and enhancing neighborhoods.  VHMP has received 501c(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service.  Contributions are tax deductible.  During 2004, St. Andrew provided 300 volunteer labor days and donated approximately $1000 to this worthy program.
