Join us on Sunday, October 5, as we celebrate World Communion Sunday and receive the Peacemaking Offering.  On this day we join with Christians around the world to celebrate the unity that we find at the Table of the Lord.  We also receive the Peacemaking Offering to support the efforts of our congregation, our synod, our presbytery, and our denomination to spread the peace of Christ.  Twenty-five percent of the offering will be used in the congregation for our peacemaking activities.  The other 75 percent will help our partners in the presbytery, synod, and General Assembly, as they work on behalf of God’s peacemaking throughout the world.

You may use the “Peacemaking Offering” envelopes provided in the pew pockets for your contribution.  Make check payable to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church and mark for “Peacemaking Offering.”

CROP Hunger Walk - This year’s walk is planned for Sunday, September 28, at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 900 W. White River Blvd.  The walk will begin from the church parking lot and proceed to the White River Park Walkway.  It is a beautiful experience for our community to unite and show our support for Church World Service/ CROP Hunger Walk and Christian Ministries of Delaware County.

Why do we have the CROP Hunger Walk in Delaware County each year?  First of all, we want to make a difference in the world by raising funds for Church World Service.  It provides aid and assistance in so many ways and with so many partners in developing nations and where disasters have struck.  We also walk in order to fight hunger locally.  Christian Ministries, the largest Food Pantry in the county, will receive 25% of the funds raised by this walk for its food pantry in the form of a grant.  This will go a long way to help the pantry feed over 10,000 people who apply for food assistance each year.  Last year $13,820 was raised, and the goal this year is $15,000.  Make a difference in our community and the world.  Join the CROP Hunger Walk or sponsor a CROPWALKER.  Please see David Wager after the service today to obtain a packet or to sponsor a walker.
